In a wave of political tension, the BJP has escalated demands for arresting those behind the murder of Suvendu Adhikari's close aide. The incident has been portrayed as evidence of legal disorder under the leadership of the TMC government.
Within two days of the assembly poll results, Chandranath Rath was shot dead in a bold assault at Madhyamgram, amplifying unrest in the region. BJP's Adhikari labeled the shooting as a 'cold-blooded murder', claiming a planned strategy was involved.
Trinamool Congress (TMC) rejected these accusations, asserting the BJP is politicizing the tragedy. Meanwhile, Congress and CPI(M) have called for transparent investigations to prevent the deteriorating political climate from worsening.
