Delhi Tops RPF Crime Chart Among Union Territories
Delhi has recorded 15,765 cases registered by the Railway Protection Force in 2024, marking a significant increase compared to previous years and leading among Union territories. According to NCRB data, the city's rate of RPF-related crimes is aligned with the national average, underscoring persistent crime challenges.

Delhi reported 15,765 cases registered by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) in 2024, the highest among the Union territories, as per the latest NCRB data. This marks an increase from 14,467 cases in 2023, continuing a three-year upward trend in cognisable crimes reported.
The national capital had reported 13,425 such cases in 2022, illustrating a consistent rise. Delhi's cognisable crime rate by the RPF is 72 per lakh population in 2024, equal to the national average. The city's mid-year population was estimated to be 218.8 lakh, according to the report.
In comparison, other Union territories, including Chandigarh and Puducherry, recorded significantly fewer cases, with totals at 748 and 128 respectively. Overall, 18,488 cases were documented across all Union territories, with the national figure reaching 10,00,841 cases.
