Rajasthan Scandal: Ex-Minister Mahesh Joshi Arrested in Jal Jeevan Mission Scam
Former Public Health Engineering Department minister Mahesh Joshi of Rajasthan has been arrested in connection with the Rs 900-crore Jal Jeevan Mission scam by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). Accused of accepting bribes for tenders, Joshi had previously been detained by the Enforcement Directorate linked to the same case.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Rajasthan has arrested former minister Mahesh Joshi in connection with the Rs 900-crore Jal Jeevan Mission scam. The arrest, made on Thursday, follows that of retired IAS officer Subodh Agarwal, amid allegations involving tenders and bribes.
Joshi, previously a Public Health Engineering Department minister during the Congress government, has been accused of accepting bribes in exchange for tenders. While being taken to court, Joshi insisted on his innocence and expressed his displeasure at the timing of the arrest, calling it 'cruel'.
The ACB has detained 12 individuals related to the scam, including officers, with further investigations ongoing. Firms are accused of using forged certificates to secure tenders, with the probe further unveiling details of misconduct and corruption.
