Bulk carrier bound for Brazil passes through Strait of Hormuz, Iran's Tasnim reports
A Panama-flagged bulk carrier bound for Brazil passed through the Strait of Hormuz using a route designated by Iran's armed forces, Iran's semi-official Tasnim news agency reported on Sunday.
Tasnim identified the vessel as the Mdl Toofan, saying it had departed from Saudi Arabia's Ras al-Khair port and was headed to Rio Grande.
The ship had previously attempted to transit the strait on May 4 but was turned back by Iranian armed forces, the agency said, adding that it was the second vessel since Saturday to use the Iranian-designated route through the waterway.
