SP visits Octroi border outpost along IB in Jammu, calls for drug-free society

She visited the Octroi border outpost (BoP) along the International Border at R S Pura in Jammu district, where she interacted with BSF personnel, members of the public and NCC cadets, urging people to adopt a drug-free lifestyle. Addressing a public awareness programme, SP Anna said that patriotism is not limited to armed service but is also reflected in responsible civic behaviour and collective efforts to eliminate drug addiction from society. ''Drug de-addiction is very important for Jammu and for the whole of India. It is our collective responsibility'', she said. She urged citizens to actively participate in preventing drug abuse and to remain alert about suspicious activities in their surroundings. ''Being patriotic does not only mean going to fight. We have our forces for that. As responsible citizens, we can show patriotism by keeping ourselves away from drugs and helping others stay away from it,'' she said.
