In a swift move, a Delhi court has sentenced a 25-year-old man to five years of rigorous imprisonment in a POCSO case involving the molestation of an 11-year-old girl. The incident took place in outer Delhi's Nihal Vihar locality, police sources revealed on Monday.
Following the crime reported on April 3, the local police intensified their efforts, registering an FIR promptly under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the POCSO Act. Investigators meticulously reviewed footage from over 100 CCTV cameras in the area to trace the accused, a man originally from Madhubani, Bihar.
Authorities completed their investigation swiftly due to the case's sensitivity, arresting the suspect through technical analysis and local verification. Within two weeks of filing the chargesheet, the court relied on the collected evidence, including CCTV footage and witness statements, to convict and sentence the accused on May 8.
