In a startling incident in west Mumbai, three women are among five individuals accused of assaulting a police constable, according to police officials.

The altercation unfolded when Constable Anil Mahajan stopped Dharmanath Yashwant Chimbaikar, 43, for allegedly riding a motorcycle under the influence of alcohol. Dharmanath reportedly called his family, who then engaged in an alleged assault on the officer.

Identified suspects include Vaishali Gajanan Balasathi, 48, and Reshma Dharmanand Chimbaikar, 38. The accused, booked at Khar police station, were released after notices were issued in connection with the FIR.
