In a significant crackdown, Delhi Police have apprehended six men connected to the notorious Rashid Cablewala-Hashim Baba gang. Officials reported the seizure of 10 illegal firearms, including advanced pistols and a rifle, along with 81 live cartridges. The arrests have been hailed as a significant move to curb gang activities in Delhi.
The arrested individuals, identified as residents of northeast Delhi, were reportedly plotting attacks on rival gang members. Acting on specific intelligence, the police made the arrests early Monday, following a covert operation at a club in central Delhi. Sophisticated firearms and ammunition were recovered from their vehicle.
Police investigations further revealed connections of the accused with fugitive gangster Rashid Cablewala via messaging apps for orchestrating illegal activities. The gang, linked to serious crimes including murder, was attempting to draw teenagers into criminality by supplying illegal weapons. The crackdown is part of ongoing efforts to dismantle organized crime in the region.
