Deadly Blast Sparks Tensions in North-West Pakistan
A deadly blast in north-western Pakistan's Sarai Nawrang Bazar killed seven and injured dozens, escalating tensions with Afghanistan. This marks the second attack in the region within four days. Pakistan accuses Afghanistan-based militants, while the Afghan Taliban denies the allegations.
A destructive explosion at Sarai Nawrang Bazar in north-western Pakistan claimed the lives of seven individuals, including two police officers, and injured dozens more, according to a senior police official.
The incident, which raises tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, follows a deadly attack in the region just days prior. Rescue operations were promptly launched, with the injured transported to hospitals in Bannu.
Visuals from the site reveal significant damage, including shattered shopfronts and a mangled vehicle. The Pakistani government has directed its accusations at Afghanistan-based militants, while the Afghan Taliban rebuffed these claims, attributing militancy in Pakistan to internal issues.
