Maoist Leader's Surrender Signals a Shift in Telangana

In a significant development, senior Maoist leader Pasanuri Narahari, also known as Santosh, has surrendered to the Telangana police along with his wife, according to officials on Tuesday.

Narahari, who hails from Telangana, has been a notable figure as a Central Committee member of the outlawed CPI (Maoist). His wife was also involved as a cadre in the organization.

The Telangana police highlighted that only four underground cadres are currently active outside the state, including Narahari and Muppala Laxman Rao as central committee members. The authorities continue to encourage militants to join the mainstream through a state-backed rehabilitation policy.
