The Punjab Police announced on Tuesday the arrest of five individuals implicated in an attack on a property dealer near Ferozepur. The incident unfolded following a heated dispute over a land deal between Ranjeet Singh and Akashdeep Singh, the latter allegedly orchestrating an attack.
According to Ferozepur SSP Bhupinder Singh, Ranjeet and Akashdeep had agreed to jointly develop a colony on three acres, with financial discrepancies igniting tension. Akashdeep, having paid a small portion of his share, reportedly conspired with accomplices to eliminate Ranjeet and evade financial obligations.
An attempt on Ranjeet's life occurred on May 4, involving sharp weapons; however, Ranjeet survived and alerted authorities. Subsequent investigations led to the apprehension of Akashdeep and his co-conspirators, who aimed to avoid further payment by lethal means.
