The United Nations is poised to revive negotiations aimed at reuniting Cyprus, a conflict lingering since 1974. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres plans to intensify efforts ahead of stepping down, according to Cyprus's President Nikos Christodoulides.
Christodoulides' optimism follows discussions earlier this year between Guterres and Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan. These talks have fostered hope of reaching a resolution that has eluded the island nation for decades.
