In a harrowing incident in Uttar Pradesh's Basti district, police reported that a woman allegedly murdered her six-year-old son and later tried to end her own life. The event unfolded in the village of Hardi within the Kaptanganj police jurisdiction.
According to authorities, Kirti, the wife of Sandeep Singh, purportedly killed her son Prabhav with a sharp weapon before turning the blade on herself. She was found with severe injuries and is currently hospitalized in critical condition.
The investigation, led by Additional Superintendent of Police Shyamakant, suggests domestic discord as a possible motive. However, officials stress that the case remains under investigation, with potential legal actions pending the discovery of new evidence.
