The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed an extensive 7,500-page chargesheet against ten individuals allegedly linked to the devastating Red Fort car bombing that took place last year, claiming 11 lives. The chargesheet, announced Thursday, reveals the involvement of the Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH), tied to the Al-Qaida in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS).
The accused, including the deceased leader Dr. Umer Un Nabi, were reportedly part of a larger 'jihadi conspiracy' to destabilize the Indian government. Inspired by AGuH's ideology, they planned and executed the high-intensity explosion, which unleashed widespread havoc in the capital city in November 2022. Various legal provisions have been invoked to build the case against them.
Through a comprehensive scientific and forensic investigation, the NIA has gathered profound evidence, including DNA analyses and material exhibits, from the crime scene and across multiple states. The investigation is ongoing, with efforts to apprehend absconders still at large.
