A 35-year-old man was arrested in Jharkhand's West Singhbhum district following allegations of murdering his wife after a drunken altercation. According to police reports, Charan Mahli engaged in a physical confrontation with his second wife, Reena Machua, during which he kicked and punched her, ultimately causing her death.

Officials stated that the couple had been consuming alcohol together when an argument erupted, escalating into violence. Jaydeep Lakra, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Manoharpur), reported that Mahli, previously separated from his first wife, was living with Machua in a temporary market shed.

Following the discovery of Machua's body, Mahli was apprehended and, during interrogation, admitted to assaulting her while intoxicated. The accused has since been placed in judicial custody, pending further legal proceedings.
