Karnataka is set to launch an exhaustive Special Summary Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls starting June 20, encompassing over 5.55 crore voters. This initiative, part of a nationwide exercise, seeks to ensure accuracy and inclusivity on the voter lists, according to CEO Anbu Kumar.
Preparatory activities will occur between June 20 and 29, followed by Booth Level Officers' house-to-house visits from June 30 to July 29. The finalized electoral roll will be published on October 7, after a notice phase for addressing claims and objections, which runs from August 5 to October 3.
CEO Kumar stressed the importance of this exercise as a transparent and participative process aimed at updating electoral rolls effectively. Political parties are encouraged to participate actively, while citizens are urged to cooperate fully with the process.
