Senior NCP leader Jayant Patil has expressed strong criticism toward the Maharashtra government's fiscal priorities. He accused the state administration of neglecting the urgent needs of struggling farmers by choosing to fund projects he deems unnecessary.

According to Patil, many agricultural demands are left unaddressed due to a purported lack of funds, despite the state's substantial debt. This comes in the wake of numerous demonstrations in Mumbai by various political figures, including those from the Congress and Shiv Sena.

The protests, aimed at highlighting the plight of mango, cashew, and onion farmers facing unfavorable market conditions and unseasonal rains, have been met with police detentions. Patil emphasized the dire situation as farmers remain unable to obtain fair prices for their hard-earned produce.
