In a significant breakthrough, Gurugram police have apprehended Prasanjit Samanta in connection with the theft of cash and jewellery from a local showroom.
Samanta, employed as a cashier, allegedly disappeared after stealing gold, silver, and cash totaling over Rs 85 lakh. The theft was reported by a Sector 43 showroom owner, leading to an FIR.
The accused, hailing from West Bengal, was captured in Gujarat, where law enforcement recovered the stolen items. The police secured a two-day transit remand to further interrogate Samanta regarding the crime.
