In a startling discovery during a routine vehicle inspection in Dahod, Gujarat, local police seized over Rs 2.56 crore in unaccounted cash on Saturday night. The unexpected find has sparked a rigorous investigation into potential financial misconduct.
The vehicle was intercepted near Dhanpur chowki, as confirmed by Deputy Superintendent of Police AK Kalaswa. Police revealed that the cash was being moved from an 'angadia' firm in Dahod to Vadodara. The driver, Raju Ninama, failed to provide any documentation to verify the money's origin and intended destination.
A case has been registered at Limkheda police station under Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). In addition, the Income Tax Department has been alerted to probe deeper into the source of the cash and examine potential financial irregularities.
