Family members of Twisha Sharma, a 33-year-old woman found deceased in Bhopal, staged a protest outside the Chief Minister's residence on Sunday. They demand a new post-mortem examination at AIIMS Delhi, alleging dowry harassment by her husband and his mother, a former judge.
The incident occurred when Twisha, originally from Noida, was found hanging at her marital home. Her family accuses her husband, Bhopal-based lawyer Samarth Singh, and his mother of murder. The protesting relatives claimed they received assurances of fair action from the Chief Minister's Office officials during their demonstration.
An SIT has been formed to investigate allegations of dowry harassment and murder. The family's calls for justice intensify as legal proceedings are sought to be moved out of Madhya Pradesh. Meanwhile, anticipatory bail hearings for the accused continue.
