The Congress office in Ambikapur was targeted by thieves in a brazen act of vandalism and theft, marking the third such incident in recent months. Seventy-three taps were stolen, and washrooms were damaged, alongside a handwritten note taunting the authorities with the words 'I Love Ambikapur.'
This act, according to Surguja district Congress president Balkrishna Pathak, highlights ongoing security issues within the city. He suggested the involvement of drug addicts and anti-social elements in the theft, which caused significant property damage.
The incident was discovered when the office caretaker arrived on the morning of May 15. Despite a police case being registered and investigations underway, no arrests have been made. Concerns continue to mount about the city's law and order, with critics arguing that police are overburdened by VIP duties.
