A total of 253 police personnel were transferred in Beed district on Thursday, an official said.
The transfers were finalised following a marathon counselling session lasting nearly nine hours in the presence of Superintendent of Police Navneet Kanwat, he added.
''The transfer exercise was carried out in accordance with service norms mandating transfers for personnel who had completed five years at a single posting and 12 years within the same tehsil,'' the official said.
Decisions were taken on the spot after considering factors such as service records, preferred police station postings and availability of vacancies, he said.
The administrative transfer exercise involving police constabulary staff was conducted in a swift and transparent manner without any lobbying, the official claimed.
The process of transfers based on individual requests is expected to begin shortly, he added.
