Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday attached immovable properties worth around Rs 45 lakh belonging to a drug peddler at Katra in Reasi district, officials said.
The action was taken against Jamad Ali, a resident of Kheri Paroh in Katra tehsil, under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, police said.
The attached properties included two residential houses allegedly acquired using proceeds generated from the illegal narcotics trade, they added.
According to the police, Jamad Ali is presently lodged in the Kot Bhalwal high-security prison in Jammu because of his repeated involvement in narcotics-related offences.
