In a pivotal ruling, a Delhi court has acquitted SKS Ispat and Power Ltd along with four co-accused, addressing allegations of deceit in the allocation of Chhattisgarh's Vijay Central Coal Block. Among the cleared is the sibling of former Union minister Subodh Kant Sahay.

Special Judge Sunena Sharma, in dismissing the charges, criticized the prosecution for insufficient evidence to substantiate claims of cheating and criminal conspiracy by the corporate entity and its key personnel. The prosecution's arguments, built primarily on conjectures, failed to link the accused conclusively to any wrongdoing.

The court observed the prosecution's lack of credible proof against the accused, including false financial claims aimed at securing the coal block. The ruling marks a significant point in the ongoing investigation into a broader coal scam involving over 50 CBI-registered cases.
