Trump Administration Proposes NDA for Federal Workers

The Trump administration is proposing a new measure to enforce confidentiality among federal employees by requiring them to sign non-disclosure agreements. This move, announced in a government statement on Tuesday, is intended to curb leaks of sensitive information to the media.

The Office of Personnel Management (OPM), which serves as the human resource body for the U.S. government, revealed plans to develop a standardized non-disclosure agreement form. This form would be applicable to both new and existing federal employees, handing each federal agency the discretion to enforce its usage.

If implemented, the non-disclosure agreements would make it explicitly clear that federal workers risk losing their jobs if they disclose information to journalists without prior authorization. The OPM has opened the proposal to public input before moving forward.
