Role of Legal Education in Social Welfare Emphasized at Convocation

Haribhau Bagde emphasized the vital link between legal education and societal welfare during a ceremony at Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Law University. He called on law students to focus on aiding the less privileged, stating the importance of prioritizing national and social interests above all else.

Reflecting on the contributions of B R Ambedkar, Bagde underlined that legal education should foster a sense of unity beyond caste or class distinctions. He noted Ambedkar's pivotal role in legislative reforms that championed equality for marginalized communities in India.

Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal highlighted Ambedkar's diverse expertise, describing him as a profound thinker beyond his legal prowess. Meghwal mentioned governmental efforts to update outdated colonial laws to better serve justice. Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa added that legal education is key to realizing a developed India.
