The US has engaged in another defensive military action against Iran, marking the second such strike this week following aggressive movements noted from Iranian forces.
According to two US officials, who disclosed information on condition of anonymity, American military forces neutralized four Iranian drones and targeted a base ready to launch a fifth, all posing a threat to the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
President Trump stated that while Iran is 'negotiating on fumes', the forthcoming midterm elections will not pressure him into a premature deal. He remains optimistic about reaching an agreement aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz and addressing Iran's nuclear capabilities, though acknowledging the difficulty of negotiations.
The recent strikes by US forces have added complexity to the talks, leading to criticisms and political challenges, particularly with the approaching midterm elections. Trump, however, remains resolute that the elections do not influence his strategy on Iran.
