In Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh, a 34-year-old man was attacked by a group outside a mosque following an inquiry related to Shariat law. The incident unfolded as the man, identified as Intekhab Alam, sought explanations from a cleric.
The argument escalated when the cleric involved his uncle, and together they allegedly incited the violence. As worshippers exited the mosque, they joined in the aggression, confronting Alam with sticks and iron rods.
The violence spilled over to Alam's property, with the mob vandalizing his vehicle and damaging his home's door. The situation was eventually calmed by law enforcement after a report was made.
Following the events, a police case was filed implicating 12 individuals, including the cleric and his uncle, alongside over 20 unidentified suspects. An enhanced police presence has been established in response.
