Emphasizing a spirit of austerity inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Madhya Pradesh's Chief Minister Mohan Yadav opted for a minibus journey from Indore to Ujjain, rather than flying by helicopter. This rare choice aligns with a call for judicious resource utilization amid ongoing global tensions.

The Chief Minister underscored the pressing issue of water scarcity impacting Indore and other regions, noting significant groundwater depletion due to unchecked resource use. In response, the state has launched the 'Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan,' allocating Rs 10,000 crore for preserving wells, stepwells, rivers, and ponds.

Highlighting an agrarian focus, the government celebrates 2026 as 'Farmer Welfare Year' and reports significant wheat procurement from local farmers, with special attention on supporting small and marginal cultivators.
