Former CCI Chairman Dhanendra Kumar Dies in Suspected AC Blast in Delhi Home

Dhanendra Kumar, who served as the inaugural head of the Competition Commission of India, tragically passed away following a suspected explosion in an air conditioner unit that ignited a fire in his South Delhi home. The incident occurred late Wednesday night, with emergency services receiving a call at 11:24 pm. Firefighters promptly arrived to control the flames that engulfed parts of the two-storey building.

Though Kumar's son initially suffered injuries, he is now stable. Officials suspect an electrical fault in the air conditioning unit may have sparked the blaze. Police ruled out foul play after a preliminary investigation and continue to probe the incident. Kumar was remembered for significant contributions in various government roles and as an author.
