Turkey has expressed serious concerns over the recent escalation of conflict in the Black Sea, following an attack on a Turkish-owned cargo vessel. The foreign ministry disclosed the incident on Friday, highlighting that drones hit the vessel on Thursday night.

According to Ukraine, Russian drones targeted three foreign-flagged merchant ships, including a Vanuatu-flagged, Turkish-owned cargo vessel, as they navigated Ukraine's maritime export corridor in the Black Sea.

In its statement, the Turkish foreign ministry urged all concerned parties to avoid actions that might lead to an uncontrolled escalation of the ongoing war, refraining from specifically naming the perpetrators of the attack on the Turkish vessel.
