The Delhi Police have dismantled a terror network allegedly supported by Pakistan's ISI and underworld operatives, capturing eight suspects. Among those arrested is a Nepali national accused of plotting assaults on critical infrastructure across major Indian cities including Delhi and Mumbai.
In a detailed multi-state operation, police uncovered a sophisticated conspiracy involving the ISI, underworld figures, and Shahzad Bhatti, a gangster-turned-handler. This alliance planned to target key areas like railway stations in Mumbai and security establishments in Delhi.
Recovered from the suspects were grenades, firearms, and ammunition, alongside stolen vehicles. The investigation, following intelligence about possible attacks, began with the arrest of an individual in Pune and extended across various states, leading to further arrests in Mumbai and Punjab.
Authorities revealed that the arrested individuals were connected to international operatives and were planning coordinated attacks under direct orders from handlers based overseas. The inquiry has also brought to light further suspects potentially tied to the conspiracy.
