Telangana Leader Faces Court over BRS-era Cases

A Revanth Reddy, the Chief Minister of Telangana, appeared in court in Hyderabad on Saturday regarding two pending cases from his tenure. The court session addressed incidents from the period when the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) governed.
One case, filed in 2019 at the Huzurnagar police station in Suryapet district, revolves around accusations of exceeding lawful attendance at a public road show. Another case from 2021, filed at the Kamalapur police station in Karimnagar district, charges Reddy with infringing Covid-19 protocols, primarily not wearing a mask.
According to attorney Ch Vishweshwar Rao, the Kamalapur case will reach a verdict on June 4, while the Huzurnagar case is slated for trial on June 18.
