Activist Manoj Jarange has concluded his indefinite hunger strike following discussions with Maharashtra government officials who presented a 12-point proposal. The proposal aims to address the Maratha community's quota demands.

Jarange ended his protest after the state agreed to issue caste certificates based on existing Kunbi records and promised financial aid within 15 days to support families of those who lost their lives in the reservation movement. The government also committed to reviewing the caste validity process and considering the establishment of a ministry dedicated to Marathas.

While Jarange faced health concerns during his protest, officials ensured necessary medical checks would follow. The activist's insistence on Kunbi certificates and policy implementation was addressed by a team led by ministers Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil and BJP MLC Prasad Lad.

Protests for Maratha quota have been ongoing, with Jarange previously leading demonstrations in Mumbai. Key issues include the issuance of Kunbi caste certificates and the withdrawal of legal cases against protesters.
