Rekha Gupta visited the site of a building collapse in Saket, south Delhi, where a tragic incident led to four fatalities. The authorities have taken swift action, instigating a magisterial inquiry and filing a criminal case regarding the collapse.

The police have lodged an FIR at Mehrauli Station, while an inquiry will be spearheaded by the South District Magistrate as per the direction of Gupta. The chief minister evaluated the ongoing rescue operations and emphasized providing necessary aid to affected individuals.

Witnesses have expressed fears of more victims trapped under the rubble, and Gupta assured that search efforts by officials are careful and continuous. Concerns regarding unauthorized construction and safety lapses in nearby buildings were raised by residents.

Gupta proclaimed that actions will be taken against unlawfully constructed buildings and the accountable officials. Additional measures have been directed to inspect and address potentially dangerous buildings in the vicinity.

Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu confirmed that multi-agency operations are in progress, with ample medical and relief support provided. Delhi Home Minister Ashish Sood stated that urgent rescue operations were underway, with comprehensive agency coordination to assist those affected timely.
