The Indian government has authorized the deployment of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel to protect the NATGRID campus located in Bengaluru. This move was confirmed by a paramilitary force spokesperson, who announced on Sunday that the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has sanctioned 76 positions to ensure the security of this strategic facility.
NATGRID acts as a cornerstone in national security frameworks by consolidating intelligence data across various databases, crucial to counter-terrorism strategies, as noted by the CISF representative. Located in Yelahanka, Bengaluru, this campus joins the NATGRID headquarters in Delhi, which is already secured by CISF, in bolstering protection against potential threats.
The CISF, operating under the oversight of the Ministry of Home Affairs, is tasked with providing armed security to both public and private sector sites deemed critical or sensitive. This recent assignment follows last week's transition of security responsibility for the Sushma Swaraj Bhawan in Delhi, where 90 CISF personnel were deployed to ensure its safety.
