In Uttarakhand's Bageshwar district, efforts are ongoing to locate Vishesh Chauhan, a trekker from Noida who disappeared while on the Pindari Glacier trail. Search and rescue operations spearheaded by the State Disaster Response Force are in full swing to trace his whereabouts.
The alert regarding Chauhan's disappearance was issued by Kapkot police, leading to an immediate response from the SDRF post. Chauhan reportedly separated from his porter on the return journey, which prompted concerns when he did not reach the base as scheduled.
An SDRF team, led by Head Constable Teeka Singh Karki, has been actively involved in the search, utilizing rope rescue techniques to scour the challenging terrain. Although Chauhan's camera was found, he remains untraced, prompting an intensified search along the Pinder River and in nearby forests.
Inclement weather on Saturday briefly halted the operation, but it resumed on Sunday when conditions improved. The rescue team remains dedicated to locating the missing trekker.
