A catastrophic fire engulfed a residential building in Subhash Nagar, west Delhi, following an explosion in a piped natural gas (PNG) pipeline. The incident occurred late Monday night, causing significant damage and leaving one man with 85% burn injuries, according to officials.
Fire services were alerted at 10.20 pm and quickly dispatched two water tenders and a water bowser to combat the flames. The injured, identified as 42-year-old Vijay Kumar, was promptly rescued and transported to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital for treatment.
Authorities are currently investigating the precise events that led to the explosion, hoping to prevent future tragedies in the densely populated area.
