In a recent development, Trinamool Congress leader Sagarika Ghose expressed her condolences over the tragic loss of civilian lives caused by shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir.
Questioning the preparedness of the Indian government, Ghose asked why villages along the border were not evacuated ahead of time, despite nationwide mock drills.
The escalating tension has resulted in 13 civilian deaths and 59 injuries, with 44 of the wounded from Poonch, according to India's Ministry of External Affairs.
