In a shocking revelation, Ukraine's SBU security agency announced on Friday that it has uncovered a spy network run by Hungary, aimed at gathering intelligence on Ukraine's defenses. The SBU stated that two suspected agents, allegedly managed by Hungarian military intelligence, have been detained. These individuals, previously part of Ukraine's military, were suspected of committing state treason. They were allegedly recruited by a handler and provided with cash and equipment for covert communications to relay sensitive military information.
The incident has escalated tensions between Kyiv and Budapest, already strained due to Hungary's skeptical stance on Western military aid for Ukraine. Hungary responded to the allegations by expelling two Ukrainian embassy staff, labeling the accusations as propaganda motivated by policy disagreements over military aid to Ukraine.
