The Awami National Party, led by Central President Aimal Wali Khan, has reiterated its commitment to peace in the face of escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. On Friday, Khan called for embracing dialogue and tolerance instead of war, as India and Pakistan confronted each other post-Operation Sindoor.
Khan's remarks were in response to recent military developments following New Delhi's retaliation to the Pahalgam attack with Operation Sindoor. Addressing a ceremony in Shangla district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Khan invoked the non-violence principles of Bacha Khan Baba, underscoring the detrimental impacts of conflict.
In his speech, Khan avoided any call to arms, stressing that existing institutions are equipped to handle ongoing disputes and expressing solidarity with them. The stance underscores the Awami National Party's foundational beliefs against all forms of warfare, advocating for peace as a means to prevent further loss and animosity.
