In a significant political move, Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation MP Raja Ram Singh has reached out to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging the convening of a special Parliament session. The request comes in the wake of a ceasefire announcement by former US President Donald Trump, a revelation Singh finds disturbing prior to any official notice by India.
Singh outlined his concerns in a letter to PM Modi, citing glaring security lapses, the failure to hold accountable those responsible for the Pahalgam attack, and the spread of derogatory discourse against victims' families. The lawmaker also underscored the troubling nature of announcements regarding bilateral relations originating from foreign entities.
He stressed the need for immediate debate in the House to enforce government transparency and accountability. Backed by calls from opposition parties, including AAP and Congress, the convening of a special parliamentary session is increasingly seen as essential to address the implications of the Indo-Pak ceasefire and related geopolitical issues.
