BRS Working President K T Rama Rao faced questioning by the Anti-Corruption Bureau in Telangana over alleged illicit payments tied to a Formula E race.
In a pre-appearance statement, Rao decried the inquiry as politically motivated, attributing it to an attempt by the Congress government to redirect attention from unfulfilled electoral promises.
While acknowledging he might face arrest, Rao emphasized his willingness to defend his actions as efforts to elevate Hyderabad's brand image. The Formula E event was intended for February 2024 but was scrapped following Congress's election win in December 2023.
