Diplomatic Dialogues: Navigating West Asia's Tensions

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has been actively engaging with global diplomats to manage the spiraling tensions in West Asia. On Monday, he discussed the unfolding situation and diplomatic efforts with the UAE's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The situation in West Asia is increasingly fraught, with military tensions escalating notably between Israel and Iran. Last Friday, Israel launched strikes targeting Iran's strategic facilities, exacerbating hostilities and prompting a strong retaliatory posture from Iran.

India has expressed its deep concern over these events and emphasized the importance of diplomacy. Jaishankar has liaised with his Armenian, Israeli, and Iranian counterparts, urging restraint while keeping a vigilant watch on the developments.
