Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah announced plans on Thursday to transport students evacuated from war-torn Iran back to the Union Territory using deluxe buses.

Ninety students from Jammu and Kashmir were part of a group of 110 people evacuated from Iran on Wednesday. These students were initially taken to Armenia, then flown to Doha before arriving in Delhi early on Thursday morning.

The Chief Minister's office, via a post on X, confirmed that the resident commissioner has been instructed to ensure that the Jammu & Kashmir Road Transport Corporation provides deluxe buses for the students' safe return.
