Amidst the ongoing bypolls, Trinamool Congress candidate Alifa Ahmed cast her vote for the Kaliganj assembly constituency in West Bengal, urging people to exercise their voting rights and choose the right party. Her plea comes as voting continues in five constituencies across the nation, including Gujarat, Kerala, and Punjab.
According to the Election Commission data at 11 AM, the voter turnout in the assembly by-elections demonstrated diverse engagement. Kaliganj witnessed a 30.34% turnout, the highest among the five constituencies, while Nilambur, Visavadar, Kadi, and Ludhiana West recorded 30.15%, 28.15%, 23.85%, and 21.51% respectively.
The polls opened at 7 AM, with election officials conducting a mock poll prior to the commencement of actual voting. Results from all constituencies are expected to be revealed on June 23. Various parties have fielded candidates across seats, setting the stage for a closely watched electoral battle.
