U.S. Official Urges Hezbollah to Stay Out of Iran-Israel Conflict
U.S. special envoy for Syria, Thomas Barrack, urged Hezbollah to refrain from intervening in the Iran-Israel conflict during his visit to Lebanon. Meeting with local officials, Barrack emphasized that Hezbollah's involvement would be a 'bad decision'. Hezbollah, weakened by past conflicts, has condemned Israeli strikes but not retaliated.

During a visit to Beirut, U.S. special envoy for Syria Thomas Barrack advised Hezbollah against joining the Iran-Israel conflict, labeling such action a 'very bad decision'. Barrack's visit comes as tensions escalate after recent strikes between Iran and Israel.
After discussions with Lebanese Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri, a known Hezbollah ally, Barrack warned of the repercussions if Hezbollah intervened. The U.S. is actively pressing Lebanon to disarm Hezbollah, following a destructive conflict last year that weakened the group significantly.
Hezbollah, which has expressed solidarity with Iran, has yet to make explicit moves to join the fray. Thomas Barrack, who also heads the U.S. embassy in Turkey, met with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun to discuss the state's control over armed groups as per a U.S.-brokered ceasefire agreement.
