In a pointed critique, YSRCP Chief Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday lambasted the N Chandrababu Naidu-administered Andhra Pradesh government for saddling the state with debt and neglecting electoral promises, while accusing them of targeting the opposition unjustly.

During a press conference at his Tadepalli residence, Reddy, the former chief minister, accused the TDP-led NDA administration of accruing over 48% of borrowings year-over-year compared to his government. Despite the restraints posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, Naidu's government employed state development loans to amass significant debt, said Reddy.

Reddy highlighted that the state incurred over Rs 1.61 lakh crore in liabilities within a year, urging citizens to demand accountability. He also accused the NDA of filing fraudulent cases against YSRCP leaders, underscoring a campaign of 'vengeance' against political opponents.
