Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has called for the removal of the Gandhi family from Congress, asserting that the party will only rejuvenate once they are ousted. Speaking to reporters, Sarma accused the Gandhi family of being responsible for numerous problems plaguing the nation.

He noted that although various leaders have discussed cleansing the Congress, he believes that it cannot happen as long as the Gandhis remain at the helm. Sarma suggested that sanity might return to the party only when the Gandhi family's influence is curtailed.

Additionally, Sarma linked various national issues, ranging from regional connectivity to international treaties, to the Gandhi family, reinforcing his call for their exit as a necessary step to enable Congress's revival.
