On Friday, Sharad Pawar, chief of the NCP (SP), announced that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance is considering contesting the upcoming civic elections in Maharashtra as a unified force. This decision could significantly influence the local political landscape.

The NCP leader expressed surprise at the Pune District Central Co-operative (PDCC) Bank, overseen by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, remaining open until midnight before the Malegaon Cooperative Sugar Mill's elections. He hinted that such an occurrence suggests possible irregularities.

Sharad Pawar also addressed controversies around Hindi language mandates in Maharashtra's education system, opposition claims of BJP's cultural imposition, and reassured of India's balanced foreign policy approach towards the USA while expressing unawareness of his role in the Maharashtra-Karnataka border dispute committee.
